A new flushing system for technical gases
Witt-Gasetechnik has developed a new flushing system for technical gases, which allows modified atmospheres, used to keep food fresh in packaging or storage rooms, to be produced more cost effectively
"Compared to standard dosing equipment, the new KD100-1A reduces the gas consumption by up to 30 percent", said product developer Martin Bender from Witt Gas in Witten: "As a consequence, the operator can work with lower costs and/or higher profits".
The "KD" has an electronic control system and works fully automatically.
The required quantity of protective gas is regulated automatically until the required oxygen level is achieved.
The analysis of the atmosphere is non-destructive.
Witt has chosen a modern zirconia sensor that has already proven its value in its other analysis devices.
In contrast to chemical sensors, this new technology measures much more quickly allowing the protective gas quantity to be controlled much more easily.
The unbeatable high level of precision also plays an important role.
Even the slightest of fluctuations of 0.01 percent are registered and taken into consideration during flushing.
The software for the process-controlled device has also been optimised for this high performance.
The innovation from Witten works with all standard protective gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide or argon as well as other gases and their mixes (except combustion gases).
The high level of process security is also secured due to the permanent control of the existing oxygen concentration.
Errors or deviations from the settable limit values will trigger an alarm.
Optionally, it is possible to switch a potential-free contact to automatically stop the packaging machine.
The compact unit, weighing 14kg, works independently of primary pressure fluctuations, packaging speeds and packaging sizes.
It has a highly legible digital display in a splash proof stainless steel casing.
To protect the unit settings, a lockable door is available.
As an additional option, it is also possible to make the settings and call up the measured values by remote control.
