Split shaft seals for dry process
applications
The Meco "EAS" externally-adjustable seals offer complete containment of dry, abrasive powders, pastes, slurries, corrosives and fluids on rotating equipment, where traditional packings fail to seal
The patented Meco concept is based on the use of a driving elastomer; there are no internal springs to loosen, corrode or break The seal face pressures are fully-adjustable with no disassembly

Meco split shaft seals for dry powder applications
The Meco original "EAS" externally-adjustable fully-split seals offer complete containment of dry, abrasive powders, pastes, slurries, corrosives and fluids on a wide variety of rotating equipment
Since the self-compensating driving elastomer is the only seal interface with the shaft, the EAS seal will accommodate significant radial and angular shaft misalignment and shock loads, as well as thermal growth in high-temperature process machinery.
The EAS is custom-designed and manufactured to each application, and can retrofit most process equipment such as blenders, screw conveyors, bucket elevators, dryers, mills, agitators, extruders, etc Meco incorporates 1/4 inches of total run-out/misalignment capacity into EAS seal designs.
Where needed, more run-out capacity can be provided; even bent shafts can be accommodated without expensive re-shafting.
Unlike traditional mechanical seals, MECO seal faces are soft, fault-tolerant and almost impossible to break. Request a free brochure from Meco Shaft Seals ...
