Meco improves reliability of dry process machinery

Meco custom-engineered shaft seals can increase MTBF (mean time between failures) by a factor of four or more over packed glands in dry bulk process equipment.

Meco seals rotate on a plane perpendicular to the shaft, so there is no relative motion between the shaft and seal, thus no shaft abrasion damage.

The seal faces are soft, fault-tolerant and almost impossible to break.

All Meco seals are available fully-split for quick installation and rebuilds, without removing bearings or drive.

Seals accommodate 6mm or more total shaft runout/misalignment as well as shock loads and thermal shaft growth.

They contain no internal springs to loosen, corrode or break.

Gas barrier fluid flow rates are generally 0.25 +/- 0.25 cfm (7+/-7 litres per minute); seals can continue to function after an unforseen loss of air flow occurs.

Meco seals are used on slow-turning, bulk processing equipment such as screw conveyors, mixers, blenders, dryers and rotary valves across all process industries.
