Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Apr 1, 2009

Meco will exhibit its customised shaft seals for dry bulk-process equipment at the Powder and Bulk Engineering 2009 Southeast Conference and Expo, Atlanta, from 29-30 April 2009.

Meco seals are used on slow-turning bulk-processing equipment in the food, chemical, pharmaceutical, plastics and minerals processing industries.

Meco engineers specify the optimal seal design and construction materials for each seal according to precise shaft diameter, speed, clearance, process chemistry, temperature and pressure.

A range of shaft diameters can be retrofitted.

Seals use different gas barrier fluids at low flow rates (often +/- seven litres per hour).

Meco seals accommodate a 6mm diametric run-out, solving problems caused by shaft run-out or misalignment.

Meco seals are available fully split to make installation and rebuilding quick and easy.

FDA or ATEX requirements can be met.

In sanitary applications, seals can be removed for daily cleaning.

Meco seals are ideal for applications requiring vacuum containment, often increasing machine efficiency.
