Meco launches standard screw conveyor seals

Meco has introduced its HB model high-performance standard-sized seals for screw conveyors and similar equipment.

HB model seals have many of the design features used in Meco's custom shaft seals.

From summer 2009, the company will stock these models in five CEMA and seven metric shaft sizes: from 1-1/2in to 3-7/16in and from 40mm to 90mm.

HB seals are designed to perform under 90 per cent of the typical operating conditions associated with screw conveyors or scrolls.

This includes food-grade applications, temperatures up to 500F (260C), abrasive products and vertical or inclined conveyors.

The HB accommodates up to 1/4in (6mm) of shaft run-out.

High temperatures, speeds or pressures, shaft run-out and abrasive products all pose critical challenges for waste pack housings and other seals.

Meco has met these challenges with its custom seal designs.

With the standard HB series seals, Meco will now have solutions in stock, manufactured to the same exacting standards.
