Wolseley achieves environmental
milestone
Wolseley, the largest UK distributor of plumbing and heating products and a major supplier of building materials, has achieved a milestone in environmental management
Wolseley has gained ISO 14001 accreditation for environmental management at its four main distribution centres, at Leamington Spa, Worcester, Marston Gate, near Milton Keynes and Melmerby, near Ripon Wolseley is unique in the construction materials distribution sector in operating its own logistics operation, with products and materials being delivered to distribution centres or collected from manufacturers by Wolseley

Environmental co-ordinator Connor Dalton said: "Implementing the ISO 14001 programme has led to a greater awareness among staff, increased levels of recycling, less waste going to landfill and a reduction in the environmental impact of the company's operations.
"Achieving this International Standard is a fantastic achievement and is the result of many months of hard work by all staff.
However, gaining this accreditation is only the beginning - maintaining and improving the system will require continual improvement from all staff at these locations".
