Workshops ask 'What future for sewer adoption?'
The WRc Group, authors of the latest (6th) edition of Sewers for Adoption will host a series of 1 day regional workshops in March 2006, with the aim to define the future for sewer adoption
'These interactive workshops will offer a unique opportunity for developers, builders and the sewerage utilities to discuss the issues and developments surrounding adoption and so anticipate what the future holds', commented Dr Iain Naismith, WRc Head of Standards, Testing and Approvals.
The new 6th edition includes brand new sections on lateral drains and demarcation chambers, sustainable drainage systems, 'micro-pumping stations', and runoff from greenfield and brownfield land.
The launch workshops will examine how new technologies and legislative changes have been incorporated.
Speakers will also consider wider issues including implementation of the adoption protocol, responsibilities for maintaining systems and the resolution of the ownership of existing private sewers and lateral drains.
The workshops will be held in Bristol (7th March), London (9th March), Burton-on Trent (14th March) and Wakefield (15th March).
