This latest unit has an integral economiser which increases the efficiency and in turn results in savings on gas and electricity.
The boiler is a genuine three pass wet back economic design boiler and is constructed in accordance with the latest PED codes.
Features of the boiler include a corrugated furnace, flanged tubes plates connecting to the boiler shell and furnace, thus obviating T-Butt welds at the critical stress points of the boiler.
A removable stainless steel feedwater inlet sparge pipe ensures even distribution of the feed water within the shell, and is connected to the boiler via a thermal sleeve, so as to avoid stress cracks common with other shell boilers at the feedwater inlet connection, and reflex armoured level gauge glasses.
The boiler is also fitted with a combustion air pre-heater via a stainless steel recuperator located in the rear smokebox.
This unit has the advantage of a conventional air to water economiser, in that it can be used on either natural gas or fuel oil.
By fitting the Hamworthy ERD Rotary Cup there is total flexibility to meet the clients specification of available fuel and achieving up to 4% efficiency gain.
The above unit compliments the Watkins Hire Fleet and was built in the modern works at Walsall, recently acquired the Company.
