Cost-effective polymer materials control
Wittmann has extended their product portfolio for the intelligent control of material handling systems with the new cost effective and operator friendly "eMax" network control system
Leading supplier of automation and materials handling equipment to the plastics industry, Wittmann, used last month's Fakuma exhibition in Germany to extend the company's product portfolio for the intelligent control of material handling systems with the new cost effective and operator friendly "eMax" network control system This new control generation for plastics procssing plants enables the control of up to 12 vacuum loader stations for polymer processing machines; one central vacuum pump and one spare pump with programmable automatic switch-over as well as the control of bypass-valves, filter cleaning and purging valves

Internet-controlled plastics production
The prospect of Internet-controlled plastics production management moves closer with WittLink, a Wittmann-developed system for monitoring automation equipment via an array of embedded web servers
The visualisation of the loading system is accomplished through a high resolution 3.5inch TFT-colour display for easy operator interface and process data display.
Changes in the status of the system, trends and error lists can be easily seen through various graphical displays.
The data exchange is accomplished through a directly wired connection which allows a simple and unsophisticated extension of the system with additional conveying stations should the need arise.
Via the three menu levels - Info, Edit and Config - the user gains an easy overview over the conveying system and can simply optimise several process parameters and adjusts them to current conditions and requirements.
The system is best used by employing the superior stainless steel Feedmax Series-A loaders, featuring a pneumatically driven discharge valve for highest system reliability and constant loading levels due to the perfect sealing during the loading cycle.
In the case of an expansion of the production facility to significantly more than 12 vacuum loaders, the option exists to upgrade the compact "eMax" control at a reasonable cost to the M7.2 central network control system for up to 240 vacuum loaders.
