Eriks air-leak survey saves C and G GBP86,000

An Eriks product story
Edited by the Processingtalk editorial team Dec 2, 2008

Eriks UK has revealed how results from an air-leak survey conducted by the company have enabled Cavaghan and Gray (C and G) to save GBP86,000 a year on compressed air system running costs.

Eriks used ultrasonic leak detection technology to complete the survey at C and G's Carlisle factory in two days, without interrupting or affecting normal operations.

The Eriks technicians were accompanied by a member of the C and G maintenance staff during the survey.

This ensured that no part of the compressed air installation was missed and meant that C and G's own terminology for machines and other plant could be used in the survey report.

The report included a photograph of every leak, together with comments on why the leak was occurring and detailed recommendations for remedial action.

Also included for each leak was information about its financial impact on the running costs of the compressed air system.
