Yokogawa wins NAM gas-field automation project
Yokogawa has announced the award of a contract estimated to be worth more than 60M Euro for a gas renovation project being undertaken by the Nederlandse Aardolie Maatschappij BV (NAM).
To do this, the instrumentation used in the industry's safety systems must pass rigorous quality and reliability criteria.
These criteria include quality assurance, hardware and software production methods, proven field history, independent evaluation and vendor support.
The Group has evaluated instruments from several vendors, and after a formal evaluation process the Yokogawa EJA pressure transmitter has been certified.
Many other Yokogawa products are also being evaluated.
The conclusion is that the Yokogawa EJA series is suitable for use in safety instrumented systems without restriction in basic plant control systems, in one-out-of-one (1oo1) configurations at SIL1, or as one instrument in a one-out-of-two (1oo2) configuration at SIL2.
