Ceramic lined flowmeter for concrete piling
A Yokogawa flowmeter is playing a key role in a novel application for one of the world's leading ground engineering contractors, inserting concrete into drilled piling holes
With their capacity for handling 50 million tons of oil products per year, Nerefco's off-site facilities are key to supporting plant operations and trading activities, and are a distinctive source of value for the site.
This contract is for the development, configuration, installation, and start-up of an off-site control system that includes a distributed control system (DCS), safeguarding, fire and gas detection, oil movement management, planning support, and truck/railcar terminal automation systems.
The solution will utilise the Yokogawa class-leading Centum CS 3000 R3 Integrated Production Control System, ProSafe-RS Emergency Shutdown System and Fire and Gas Detection Safety System, plus the Yokogawa Oil Movement Management System and Terminal Automation System for truck and railcar loading.
PJ Wattel, Project Manager for Nerefco, commented: 'Yokogawa was selected because of the quality of the Yokogawa solutions, plus the proven expertise of Yokogawa and its staff in the field of off-site control.
We are confident that Yokogawa will be a reliable partner, working with Jacobs Engineering, the site contractor, and Nerefco, on a project in which we share one common goal: making sure that the future off-site facilities help Nerefco achieve or even exceed our expectations in the fields of reliability, operability, maintainability and safety'.
The Netherlands Refining Company (Nerefco) is a joint venture between BP (69%) and Chevron (31%).
Its Rotterdam sites consist of a 400kbbl/day refinery with a 120-tank logistics area at Europoort and a small tank farm with a truck loading facility at Pernis.
It is centrally located in the ARA (Amsterdam Rotterdam Antwerp) area, has jetty access to the VLCC-Cargo-Barge feedstock and product markets, and is connected via the RMR pipeline to the German hinterland.
It also has truck-loading facilities for the local gasoline and diesel markets.
