Innovative membrane technology for potable water
Two recent potable water supply projects have used Zenon ZeeWeed ultrafiltration membranes, to remove suspended solids and pathogens such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia
The GE extensive product offering enables clients to work with a single-source supplier to efficiently and cost-effectively build wastewater treatment plants that can combine the world's most advanced technologies such as membrane bioreactor (MBR), electrodeionisation (EDI), electrodialysis reversal (EDR) and reverse osmosis (RO).
GE continues to advance the ZeeWeed MBR process with the introduction of efficiency-enhancing, cost-effective intelligent aeration solutions.
This innovative aeration strategy includes 10/10 cyclic aeration and new 10/30 Eco-aeration, which reduces membrane aeration during periods of low or average demand in order to minimise energy consumption while maintaining plant performance.
10/30 Eco-aeration has helped customers achieve up to 75% reduction in energy required for aeration.
The versatile MBR system is also cable of achieving Enhanced Nutrient Removal (ENR) to restore and preserve environmental health in environmentally sensitive marine ecosystems.
ENR combines immersed UF membranes with an advanced biological reactor design to meet the most stringent ENR effluent standards and ensure discharge permit compliance.
Show attendees will also be able to see the GE line of complete modular Z-MOD Packaged Plants for MBR and tertiary ultrafiltration, the industry's largest offering of pre-engineered immersed membrane systems for wastewater treatment.
These solutions, including the new 1 MGD Z-MOD-X packaged MBR plant, deliver the modular flexibility to allow clients to maintain a system size and configuration that meets their current and future demands.
By incorporating the real-world tested large-plant performance of ZeeWeed membranes into a compact, cost-effective package, Z-MOD MBR systems provide an ideal solution for new or retrofit applications at municipal, industrial, and land development sites.
